The Story
After an attempted assault on the president of the
United States performed by a mutant (the fabulous Alan
Cumming as Nightcrawler), Colonel William Stryker gets
permission to raid the X Men school.
Stryker is experimenting with mutants since years,
and he is the man who created Wolverine.
Meanwhile, Magneto escapes from his high security prison
- but only after being forced to reveal the secret of
Cerebro to Stryker.
Magneto and Mystique team up with the X Men to stop
Stryker from starting a war against the mutants.
______________________________
Wolverine is also back and discovers more of his past
in X2, and we also meet again with Storm (Halle Berry),
Jean Grey (who has much more impressive powers than
in part one), Cyclops, Rogue, Pyro and Iceman, and we
get a glimpse of Colossus.
New with the X Men is Nightcrawler, and he is just
fantastic!
On the "bad" side, Toad and Sabretooth are
missing, but Mystique is back, and Lady Deathstrike
(the female version of Wolverine) is introduced.
Does X2 keep the promises given in X-Men 1?
Yes it does - more and better action, more and better
special effects, Wolverine does major butt-kicking,
and Nightcrawler is a loveable character.
So there are sequels that are better than the original,
and this is one of them! Go watch!
