Activists Jan (Daniel Bruehl) and best friend Peter (Stipe Erceg) are trying hard to change the world. At night, they break into the villas of The Rich, but they don’t steal anything - instead, they just rearrange furniture, valuables, TV’s and stereos - and they leave a note: “You have too much money! The Educators”
Everything goes well - until Peter leaves for a trip. Jan and Peter’s girlfriend Jule (Julia Jentsch) are falling in love, and they break into the house of the man who sued Jule for 100.000 Euro.
When Hardenberg arrives surprisingly, they knock him out and kidnap him in panic and lack of a better plan. Will Jan be able to convince Hardenberg (activist himself in 1968, now highly paid manager) - and himself - that their idealism justifies their actions?
Did anyone ever say the German movie is dead? This one proves the opposite. A moving, funny, well-paced story, great dialogue, suspense without violence, and top performances, especially of Daniel Bruehl who might be able to convince you to change your life and join the rebellion. Inspiring!
