Biography
"Modeling is a tough job, your co-workers are your
rivals, it really puts a damper on your perspective of other girls." -Adriana
Lima
Adriana Francesca Lima was born on June 12, 1981, in Salvador da Bahia,
Brazil. The blue/gray-eyed Brazilian beauty can attribute her exotic
good looks to her French, Portuguese, Native-American, and Caribbean
heritage.
"Fashion is about good energy. Its about feelings. Thats what I
have to give the people, good energy and good feelings." -Adriana
Lima
At age 13 Adriana placed second in the Ford Supermodel of the World
Contest, and three years later, she went to New York and signed on with
Elite Model Management.
Adriana appeared in Vogue in 1997 to 1998, and in Marie Claire (Italy)
in 1999. Adriana Lima has walked the catwalk for Cynthia Rowley, Vera

Klum and Laetitia Casta for Victoria's Secret summer 2000 swimwear catalog
in Cannes.
But it's her job as a Victoria's Secret "Angel" that has
fueled her fame the most, especially after appearing in network television's
Victoria's Secret fashion show in 2001 and 2003. In 2001, she also appeared
in the short film, The Hire: Follow, with Mickey Rourke.
Adriana was engaged to Lenny Kravitz in 2002, but they
never got married.
Adriana Lima walked around Venice in nothing but lingerie, high heels
and a pair of wings in 2004 for a Victoria's Secret ad (co-starring Bob
Dylan) for Victoria's Secret's "Angels" collection.
Before her modeling days, Adriana always hoped to help children and
thanks to her newfound popularity, she is able to work with orphans in
Brazil. |
